So I got this new printer, that I really really like – finally I can print giclees at home! I am overly excited about it, and have a little giveaway on one of the recent prints. You can enter on my Facebook (link just on the right of this post) – but just until tomorrow (Friday) or see the print range for sale on Etsy. Woohoo!
My clever friend Rachel Wheeler wrote an awesome book for kids about Gargoyles, and I got to do the pictures!
A few images from the book below, and a link to the full book (available on Blurb) here.
This is how I feel quite a bit – slightly scrappy and dishevelled, full of love, fun (sometimes) and eyes for my little bean…
These cards available on my Etsy shop for Australian people (as too late for overseas sales sadly!) if you would like one.
To all the mums out there…
This year I’m making a more concerted effort to do markets – and kicking off this effort with a semi regular spot at Craft Vic’s new venture – New Craft at Queen Vic!
I’ve always loved Queen Vic market for fruit, veg and of course boreks – and excited to join the talented artists in the first event next Sunday, April 6th. I’ll be on a stand with my pal Amanda from Macaroon Kids – she has the sweetest handmade kids clothes, and I’ll be selling printed wares like cards, prints and original paintings. And eating boreks. Hope to see you there!
Being the new year and all, I thought it was time to experiment with some new mediums after “the year of the watercolour” in 2013. I’ve been working with digital “paper cuts” of acrylic paint textures, and creating some kids prints which has been fun! More to come… Oh, and I’ve finally set up a store here to share the latest prints and other bits and bobs (way more to be added soon).
I recently met Amanda from Macaroon Kids from when we spoke on a panel about “handmade culture” – with similar views, of course we hit it off! We have since worked on a few projects, and I thought I’d show a recent creation based on the logo/photo work of her business Macaroon Kids – selling beautiful handmade a curated kids wares. The original image and my watercolour version below!
I’ve been working on a new range of cards (I’ve been posting a few of the illustrations over the past couple of months on here) and have put together a few collection options on my Etsy site – 6 pack/12 packs/thank you mix etc. Below is a little photoshoot, slowly slowly I am learning the art of taking a product shot (I must say, rather more difficult than I expected!). They are now available for sale, and hopefully find their merry way mailed around the world!
One of my favourite spots in Melbourne is the fantastic Abbotsford Convent, and I am super excited to be joining the artists and creators there for a pop-up shop. Launching this Sunday (also the Convent’s Open Day) the shop will be run by artists, and sharing their work created at this amazing spot. Full details can be read here.
Another custom portrait, for an absolutely lovely lady and her mum in the Netherlands.
