I’ve been a busy lady, working on a whole bunch of artworks and goodies for Markit at Fed Square. Mostly everything is new – plates and artworks for walls, cards for the mail, jewellery for your self… Fun fun!

I’ve prepared a little photogallery of some of my work so far… with much more to come. Can’t wait to see the other stands and meet some lovely people, looking forward to my first big market indeed.

Every now and then I’ve done some lovely trades on Etsy for some artwork or jewellery and it has always been a positive experience. This past week I got two of the sweetest packages…Firstly a beautiful photograph from Simonamilona in Spain:

And then this amazing embroidery based on a Picasso drawing, which I fell in love with, by Emily.

She was beyond sweet to create a necklace embroidery based on one of my drawings. Oh MY! I’m so lucky!

And how great is the world when you can trade artworks across the globe with such beautiful people?

I’m super excited to be attending my first big market at Markit in the Emerging Designer section! May 26th, 2013 at Fed Square. Some examples of the kinds of things I am making at the moment are below. Now I have absolutely NO IDEA how much to make, and what the crowds want (being my first big market) but it is going to be an amazing experience I am sure. Hope to see you there!

Cold and Wintery

It’s so so so exciting to wake up with a wintery cold Melbourne day after weeks of heat, wilted garden and sweaty nights.

Being from Perth, I never thought I’d become such a cold loving gal… But I am. Oh yes, Autumn I love you.

This is the rough beginning from a little storybook I’m writing + drawing about a mousey in a housey.

It’s been a good month! The exhibition at Dench went really well (hurrah!) and I’m looking at a few fun upcoming ways to sell work, eg markets and retail. I’ve been working on some custom portraits, some drawings for a book, and a logo design for a great charity (more on this later). Meanwhile I’ve been experimenting with new materials and loving playing with decals on my collection of op shop plates…

Super fun. Next is working out a great way to attach them to the wall… I’ve always wanted one of those walls of super duper plates like this!

I’ve got my second solo show at Dench in North Fitzroy, extra happy cause some lovely staff bought some work as I was installing – good sign! I’ve put a few pics up on my Facebook Page.
